How can I turn off the animated download arrow (on top-right of screen) in FF 20.0.1?
The new animated download arrow is extremely distracting & quite annoying (and I know I'm definately not the only one who thinks so). If there is no option to turn it off, I really hope you include that feature in the next update.

I'm not aware of any way to stop the animation, but you can use the customize feature to remove or relocate the arrow or other toolbar icons. Here's how you can get started:
- right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Customize
- View menu > Toolbars > Customize (if you don't normally display the classic menu bar, tap the Alt key to display it so you can access the View menu)
To remove an icon, drag it to the dialog and drop it with the other icons.
More info: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.
You can call up the download list using Ctrl+j.

That worked perfectly! I hadn't used that very well hidden customize option in so long, I completely forgot about it.
Many thanks!
Gotten from elsewhere: about:config browser.download.useToolkitUI change to True
Flashing animation is gone.
Hi Landstander, just to make it clear to all readers, setting browser.download.useToolkitUI to True switches from the new history-integrated downloads window back to the old separate-download-manager window.
