Can I Enlarge the font/type face in URL window?

I help elderly people with their computers. A common complaint is that they cannot read the URL window. Is there a way to enlarge the type/font size & boldness in the URL window (and the search window)?

Hello RayBSC, see for both (url/location/address bar and search bar) the next : Better URL Bar add-on

only for the url/location/address bar : Make Address Bar Font Size Bigger add-on

URL/Address Bar Font Bigger add-on

thank you

The add-ons suggested by ideato address the issue of font size and only in the URL/Address bar. The add-ons are small in size but do not address the "boldness" (black/gray) issue in the URL/Address bar, as far as I can tell, and appear to not allow varying fonts/font sizes. In addition, to the suggestions below, you could make changes in the userChrome.css for the URL and Search bars, but the values would be fixed unless changed by you rather than allowing the user to control fonts/font sizes as in "Theme and Font Size Changer". I do not have the information that you would need to insert in the userChrome.css file to make those changes.

  1. This add-on allows changes that affect the entire UI including the URL/Address bar and the Search Bar (but not the web page display; for that see "Zoom" below) - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
  2. To change the black/gray shading in the URL/Address bar, you can change a hidden preference using about:config (you may not need to do this if using "Theme Font & Size Changer" add-on):
  3. Zoom the web page display

Thanks to both answers above. Since I am trying to help a third party who is very limited in computer savvy and ability, I chose the first answer from ideato. I think it will do what they need done. I have passed this info on to them in an email with full, simple instruction. If this doesn't work for them, then I may go there myself and try TheOldFox's suggestions, but it would be useless to pass that on to them, it is too involved for their level. Thanks again to you both.

Note that you can use this extension (mentioned by TheOldFox) to adjust the font size for the user interface including menu items and location bar:
