Clicking on a new tab used to open a blank page, now it opens SweetIM; how do I fix this?

I used to be able to open a new tab and it would show a blank page, but now it shows a site called SweetIM that I didn't set as the site to be opened when I open a new tab.

First, try the suggestions here: Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page.

If that doesn't help then I suggest that you visit a reputable forum specializing in malware removal instead of trying to follow instructions on various Internet sites that may run you into trouble. See Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware for some recommendations.
