Firefox doesn't resolve short hostnames

Hi

I have a problem with my firefox browser in my network. If I write the FQDN, than the website can be reached. If I write the short hostname, then the website can't be reached.

From the dos command utility on my windows machine, I can ping the host with the short name.

Do you have an idea why ths happens?

Thanks Peter

Hi,

You can try to right-click and Toggle keyword.enabled to False in about:config. Additionally you may also have to set browser.fixup.alternate.prefix and browser.fixup.alternate.suffix to blank values.
