After upgrading to firefox 15.0, I have had nothing but trouble with freezing and becoming unresponsive. Just about every time I have used it the windows become unresponsive, I can't close out or do ANYTHING with firefox, and have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to get it to close.

Often, if firefox does not freeze completely, when trying to minimize or close out, the buttons will just flash continuously (roll-over animation on Win7).

I love firefox, but this problem is so bad I can't even hardly use it at all anymore.

in this case i would just stay with flash 10.3 as long as it gets maintained by adobe.

hello, is this happening on sites that use the flash plugin (you could try disabling the shockwave flash plugin temporarily for testing purposes in firefox > addons > plugins)? some other users have reported that security software might be causing the issue. what kind of programs do you use? in case you have trusteer support installed, please make sure, that you're updated to the latest version -old versions of trusteer rapport are known to cause problems with flash/firefox:

Hi, It does seem to happen more on websites such as youtube, but without flash what would be the point of using the browser?

Also, I use Avast Antivirus and removed it from being an addon/plugin to firefox.

hey, as i've stated before, disabling flash was only meant as a step in diagnosing the issue in order to find out what's going on. another thing to try would be disabling hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general.

in case you can observe that those freezes originate from the flash plugin, downgrading to flash 10.3 (it is still receiving security updates) could solve the issue.

Hi,

I went ahead and disabled Hardware acceleration, as well as downgrading to flash 10.3

If this happens to fix the problem, what would be the next step?

Go to "TOOLS" click on "Add-ons" open up "Plug-ins" on the left hand side of your browser when it opens. On the Top in SMALL BLUE PRINT it will say:

CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR PLUGINS ARE UP TO DATE

Click on that and that will take to a site at Mozilla to check your Plugins from there it will tell u how to update what to do.
