Exactly, the-edmeister.

Mozilla is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote openness, innovation and opportunity on the web. And one of its many projects/products is our favorite web browser, Firefox.

If you want to know more about Mozilla, please go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/.

Thank you for asking that very good question.

The word Mozilla also used to refer to the Mozilla Suite until Mozilla discontinued it and the community took it over and it was renamed as SeaMonkey.
