reaching a LAN website by its hostname

I have a secondary machine in my LAN running a web server. In my main computer when I type the open FF and type IP address of that machine in the navbar I get the web site without problems, but if I use its hostname (which is debian) FF load debian.org instead.

I want to know how to avoid that behavior, I need FF loading the web in my LAN when I type 'debian'.

Thanks.

Try bookmarking the LAN site. I think there is a reasonable chance that the autocomplete will prioritize a bookmark over the search and fixup functions.

Does it help if you add a trailing slash?

You can also try to use a keyword bookmark (with a possible %s parameter) to access a fully qualified URL.
