Why does control clicking now launch the link in a new tab (which it's supposed to) and open the link in the active tab as well.

I just updated to the 13.0.1 and immediately noticed on www.rottentomatoes.com that when you hold down the control button and click the mouse it not only opens a new tab with that link which is what I want it to do. It also opens the link on the tab I was browsing on. Holding down shift to launch the link in a new session does the same. Launches the new session and opens the link in the existing session.

I am looking at this website in particular: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/top/bestofrt/?year=2011

Chosen solution

What an excessive use of unnecessary white space is there in the page code.

It happens in Firefox 3.6.x and Google Chrome as well.

The links appear to have some script attached that isn't being canceled effectively.

I installed the portable version of Firefox 12 to see whether that version behaved differently, and I get the same result. What version were you running previously?

Since I'm not seeing this on other sites, I wonder whether it is a coincidence, i.e., site change?

Seems to happen on select urls. Only way to bypass is to right click link and select open in new tab.

You can also middle-click the links to open a new tab. It only happens if you left-click.
