When searchng Google in FireFox 12.0 I do not get the drop down Google Search suggestions any more ( earlier I did ). It works on the FireFox search bar, but does not work on the Google website itself. At the same time Google website gives me the Search suggestions in IE9.

Can somebody advise, how to get them back in FireFox ?

Hi madperson ! Thank you for the respond. I followed your advice, restarted the browser, but the problem is still here. What else could it be ?

Thank you !

can you test if it works as intended when you run firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode once? (just close all other firefox windows and open the browser again while you press the shift key, just select "continue in safemode" in the opening dialog box)

another thing you can try is to totally remove google from the browser history like described in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History?s=history&r...

afterwards when you are on google.com make sure that the site is allowed to set cookies at least for the session by right-clicking on the page > "view page info" > permissions.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Did you make sure that it isn't blocking those requests?

You can try to use the Live Http Headers extension to see if a request is send if you type in the search field and if there is a response.

Hi cor-el !

I use AVG for years and never had the problem like this. The problem appeared around a month ago.

Thank you !

maybe this is a issue of malware interfering on the page (you've described that you get textsrv-links on a page in another thread). please do a full system scan with your security software and/or also try the free version of malwarebytes.org.
