When I try to paste an image into an email mesage body, I get a broken image. How do I fix this?

I'm using Firefox 11. I copied a jpeg image from a word 2003 document, and when I try to paste it into the email message body, I just get a broken image icon. Drag and Drop doesn't work at all. I have Windows XP and I'm using Verizon Yahoo email.

attach the file rather than putting it in the body of the email
