I get keyboard typing lag with FF11, not with IE or Chrome

When typing text, I lag several letters behind, then suddenly catch up; true only for FF11, when typing emails in Yahoo, etc. It doesn't happen if I switch to IE or Chrome, on the same computer.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Well I haven't used it long enough to say for sure, but disabling the hardware acceleration option, at least initially, seems to have solved the problem. I'll get back here if it later turns out not to be the case; but so far, so good. Thanks! beach004

I've marked it solved; I don't now see any sign of the keystroke delay that was plaguing me. Relief!
