why has my tab bar rearranged itself?
Normally, when I have multiple tabs open, the little plus sign to add a tab is on the furthest right tab edge. For the past few days it's been moving itself all the way to the left.. well almost. It seems it's attaching itself to my first tab, which is now off my screen and I cannot get to it - which is rather frustrating. I can supply screen shots if necessary. How to I lock that add tab plus sign to the tab furthest to the right and have access to all my tabs again? I have a lot of add ons, but most are currently disabled - only put in use when I need them.
This problem does fix itself when restarting firefox from scratch (not restore session) however, when using several instances of the browser, all multiple tabbed - it's becoming a real problem

It was a plugin.. Ghostery.. turned that one off.. tabs came back where they belong. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction folks :)

Hi opal,
I'd try starting Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. This happened to me one time when they updated Firebug. You should look at the Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide and the Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems article as well.
Hopefully this helps!
I've seen that issue myself on some occasions.
Are the tabs that you do not see or appear to the left of the New Tab button App tabs or normal tabs?
Try to close (Ctrl+W) and restore (Ctrl+Shift+T) the tabs to the left of the New Tab (+) button to see if that fixes things.
Use Alt + (number)to go to one of the first eight tabs or use the List All Tabs button to access the tabs.

Um... what is an Ne Tab button? app or normal? Normal
"Try to close (Ctrl+W) and restore (Ctrl+Shift+T) the tabs to the left of the New Tab (+) button to see if that fixes things.
that only works on the visible window / the window that just closed for me.

Where would I input alt + *number*? and I've never seen a button that says list all tabs - where would that be?''
The New Tab button (sorry, I lost the 'w') appears as a plus sign on the Tab bar.
The List All Tabs button shows as an arrow symbol at the far right end of the Tab bar and opens a drop down list with open tabs (future Firefox version no longer show pinned tabs in that list).
You can use Ctr+1 to Ctrl+8 (use Alt on Linux, Mac) shortcuts to go to the first eight tabs.
I'll give safe mode a shot. The problem is rather intermittent so it might be a while before I know if it has changed anything
Thanks Cor-el for the directions to the drop down for tabs.. I have terrible vision (one of the reasons for my crap load of add ons) and never would have seen that little arrow unless I was looking for it.
Right now, I'm not experiencing the lost tab problem but will surely check next time it happens.
(leaving this tab open so I have instructions available)
