When clicking on a button on a website, for example "printable view" on a webmail document, nothing happens. When using Internet Explorer, another windows pops up.

I have tried unchecking the "block pop ups" box and still nothing.

Some add-ons also block pop-ups. If you have any security suite toolbars, such as McAfee, you may want to check their settings.

Links that generate pop-ups generally use JavaScript. I assume JavaScript is enabled in the options (same tab as pop-up blocker), or you would notice lots of other issues? Are you using any add-ons that might inhibit some or all features of JavaScript on a site (e.g., NoScript)?

Yes Javascript is enabled and I am not using Norton or any security suite that adds a toolbar. I prefer Firefox to Internet explorer, if I could just solve this issue. Thanks

Have you thought about installing Firefox 11??

Since add-ons are a common culprit in modifying website functionality, you could test without them.

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, try starting Firefox in Firefox Safe Mode. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up. Just click "Continue in Safe Mode".

Do the links work correctly? If not, you try creating a new (blank) profile: Managing profiles.

If that works you could try to sort out the cause in your old profile, or move key settings like bookmarks from your damaged profile to the new profile, see: Recovering important data from an old profile.

Hope this helps.
