Thanks again, VW. I think the problem has been resolved, hopefully permanently. I uninstalled FF and then reinstalled it without retaining any of the old settings. I have already imported the bookmarks from a sister computer which has the same info as this one. I will update passwords and all that stuff as I go along. Thanks again. kevansja

Hi,

It could be a temporary interruption in the service. Usually error messages shown inside the web page are being displayed by the web site/server.

Thank you. I think I will uninstall firefox and re-install it. This should fix the problem. I will let you know later. kevansja

If the error is of the site, then making changes to Firefox or in Firefox wouldn't usually help. You can also try to access the site and its services after some time.

Thanks again VW. You are correct, uninstalling and reinstalling did not help at all. I am hoping it is only temporary. I have seen it before, but the duration was very short. This time it is persistent. I will give it a rest for a while since I am able to access web mail using IE or other browsers. Only thing is the I really prefer to use Firefox - for reasons of user-friendliness, not so many rude interruptions, updates that take FOREVER, as well as patches and crashes as IE (all while you are trying hard to work and earn a living to be able to afford Gates and his crew MORE money than they already have!!). Will let you know what happens in case someone else has a similar problem in the future. Thanks, kevansja

You can also check in a new profile. A new profile would have the default Firefox settings, empty of cache and cookies and usually free of add-ons. If it's okay, you can later copy the needed personal data from the old profile.
