My wife's PC will not let me set the homepage. It always comes up with Incredimail.com for the page. No matter how often I reset it reverts.

The PC being used a an HP and uses windows Vista Home Premium. As mentioned, I have going to tools and setting my.yahoo as her homepage. Her PC either reverts back to the Incredimail or receives a startup blankpage. I can't tell you how many times I have reset this pc, all to no avail.

Hi bjjolle,

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page. Your homepage might have been changed by a particular site. Sites like MSN, Yahoo, etc have been know to ask to become your homepage.

There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.

If that doesn't work you should look at the article How to fix preferences that won't save.

Finally, your issue may be because you've been hit with some Malware.

Hopefully this helps!

I actually found a workaround for her. Seems like she uses some of that Incredimail crap on her menu bar area, which when she opens opens the Incredimail page. By "x"ing out of that bar her saved homepage will open. She said he works for her, so this will do. Thanks for the help. I think short of getting rid of Incredimail we won't lose the page. Since I don't have to use that PC figure it is her choice. Me, I would have taken the PC back to factory settings and got rid of most the crap on the PC. She likes the games on Yahoo and a few other sites and likes their mail site. So 0 0 0. Again, thanks.
