This isn't something I know much about but, if I understand you properly, nothing you mention should take more than a second or two.

Browsing speed will depend on a whole host of things - the power of your computer, available memory and storage, your internet connection, the particular websites if they are loaded with Flash, images, javascript etc, your skill with the keyboard and mouse and so on.

It wouldn't hurt you to update to Fx 10.0.2 but if you are still worried about your computer's slowness chances are that you have problem extensions, plug-ins, and, my pet hate, third party toolbars.

You could also check if your firewall and other security programs are causing problems.

You can find installed addon by going

  • Firefox/Tools(Alt+T)-Addons-Extension and remove unknown extension and then you need to restart Firefox to remove addon completely

are the add ons the only thing in the browser start up time? there must be other elements.. is there a place or a site that explains what's included in that ?

Your problem may be related to the BLNGBAR shown at the end of your User Agent String. This answer from SafeBrowser may help -
