I was doing a full win7 reinstall on my PC, and going through and backing up all of my application data to my secondary hard drive. I saw that there is a cloud synching feature new in firefox so wanted to try it out. Set up my account (taurath@gmail.com) with sync and said everything was saved and uploaded. Great, I thought! I do the wipe, reinstall windows. Install firefox anew, go to sync... says to log in. I log into my account, wanting to sync the new install of firefox with the synched settings/accounts. I say I don't have the device with me because I just formatted. It then generates a new key for me.. thinking it is a new device I hit reset key.. just in time to see that it is now DELETING all of my synced settings. For the love of god, whyy? Is there ANY way to get my stuff back?

Try recovering your Firefox data from that backup of app data.

I was going through and decided to use sync instead of backing up the appdata. I've lost all the files on my drive in the wipe. My fault for losing the data, was hoping I could get it back from sync. Sync makes it way too easy to delete the data without even a warning message.
