When I click inside the Google search box and start to enter a character, the box turns light blue and the characters do not display so I am unable to see what I am typing. Results will display below the search box. I am also able to left click, hold and drag the cursor across the search box and the characters will display as if I am highlighting to delete with white characters displaying on black background. I have Windows 7 with Firefox browser. Is this a Windows, Firefox or Google setting issue? How can I fix?

Chosen solution

That can be caused by the "Keystroke protection" in Comcast Constant Guard.
"Configure Anti-Keylogging Settings" -> disable

It sounds more like a theme issue. What theme are you using? If you change to another theme, what happens? Are you using a userChrome.css file with Firefox?

I currently have Classic theme running. If I use the "Image" search screen there is no problem. Seems to only affect the primary "Search" screen. Not aware of userChrome setting.

This seems to be exactly the problem. Made the change. Have my fingers crossed. Thank you very much.
