Is there a way to lock the zoom after you change it?

I have 24" display. When using Firefox, full screen, most website pages open with around 5" of empty space on either side. It's like I open a page and it's suppose to fit on a 15" screen. I can change the Zoom but since I can't lock the Zoom, I have to do it for every page I open. It's more fun having this big display and sitting 4 feet away.

Chosen solution

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox, as with some other browsers.

Try the Default FullZoom Level extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965

Or the NoSquint extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/
