I have Firefox v8. When I attempt to open a PDF, all I get is a solid black box.
When I try to view a PDF, initially I get a transparent box and when I enlarge it, it turns into a solid black rectangle. I'm wondering if there is any add-on that will correct this problem. If I use IE, I have no such problem.

You have two PDF plugins installed for Firefox.
- Nitro PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape
- Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape "9.4.5"
Try disabling the one that you don't want used by Firefox, and make sure that the Download Action matches the plugin you want Firefox to use.

I only have Adobe installed and updated so there is no plug -in conflict. I have the same problem. I noticed that if I reload the page and then go to the original link and click on it again the PDF shows. I usually must do this more than once. It's a pain but at least you can see the information you are seeking....
First, thank you to everyone who offered to help me with this problem. Here's what I did: 1) I disabled the Nitro PDF Plug-In v2.1.0.13 2) I installed Nitro PDF Reader v2.1.0.13 into my 'C' drive, and 3) I updated Adobe Reader to v10. My problem is gone and I can now view, adjust the size, save or print PDF's. I really appreciate all of your help!!
