search bar doesn't work all of a sudden
When I type in a word for search on my home page , I click on "Web Search" and nothing happens. It worked before and all of a sudden it stopped . I'm not much good with computer settings and stuff , but I did turn the puter off last night and it installed 10 updates from Windows. I'm thinking this probably had something to do with it , but I don't know where to start looking.

- Deleting or renaming a corrupted localstore.rdf file in your profile:
only downside is re-customizing toolbars View>toolbars>customize (take a picture of your toolbars first). May fix toolbar problems including some search engine problems. It will not not remove or reorder search engines. - Unable to search or add new engines:
Deleting just search.json no apparent differences, may fix problem.
Deleting both search.sqlite and search.json -- most likely to fix problem -- all search engines available but will be in alphabetical order, which you can manually modify.
Your actual search engines are in your "searchplugins" profile folder and remain untouched.
I greatly appreciate your efforts , but unfortunately I'm not that schooled with deleting and reassigning and so on. Is there an easier fix ?
Exactly what is your homepage?
The default about:home Firefox homepage doesn't have a button labeled "Web Search", it just says "Search" and the opposite side of the search container it says Google.
Maybe it's ATT homepage . It says web search and it has all my custom news , email , and weather and stuff. Did I mislead ? I thought Firefox was the entity involved.
