I have a paid AVG application which uses AVG safe search. I need this so I can't use firefox 6 because it disables that. Plus my pc seems to slow down when I tried to use version 6. I don't have a real problem with version 5!I am forced to use version five until firefox 6 can let me use my AVG! I do not want to force firefox to enable AVG either because that could cause real problems. This info should be resolved by the developers!

Safe Search extension is not compatible with Firefox 6.0

Mozilla has released their new Firefox 6.0 browser for public. Unfortunately, the AVG Safe Search extension is not compatible with this browser version yet (example screenshot). We found some glitches during our internal testing and developers are working on rectifying them. A new AVG program update will be released as soon the support is fully implemented. You may also notice some other Firefox extensions are not compatible as the Firefox development cycle is quite rapid.

Please rest assured you are still protected by AVG even if you have already upgraded to Firefox 6.0. The AVG Active Surf Shield component is still checking all data and will prevent you from accessing malicious content even though search results verdict icons are not available temporarily.

As I said before, there are other problems with My AVG safe search. For example, the gmail accessing on the tool bar goes bye-bye also. This is only a drop in the bucket. When I installed version 6, my pc slowed down as well as some dificultity with other apps. So when I went back to version 5, the troubles disappeared. I am using windows 7 with 64 bit. Perhaps version five was considered when windows 7 was developed. I also can't use the latest internet explorer because that also disables some of my paid for apps such as WEB PRINT by CANON. I know that to force apps to work with firefox,I am subject to crash my system and that is not an option! Thanks for your response but I'll wait until Firefox gets it right as far as AVG goes. For now Firefox version 5 works well!

So... what's the point of releasing a new version if it doesn't work with everything else?

Oh... by the way, I got the new 6.0.1 and avg safe surf still doesn't work... Oh and Java doesn't work as well... Again what's the point...

Would this explain why all my emails are going as #possible spam' from Thunderbird or is this unconnected and, if so anyone got any ideas?

Why does Firefox persist on telling me to update to 6 when the version is not working. Too many problems still have to be resolved.

FF6.0.1 works fine for me and if you have paid for version of avg upgrade to avg2012 safe search works fine.
