facebook keeps opening new tabs in firefox 4.01. this does not happen with chrome or ie

when i go to the facebook page, firefox keeps opening new tabs every 3-4 seconds. this does happen with chrome or ie. appreciate any suggestions to fix this.

This issue is caused by the Facebook Toolbar 1.7.3 extension

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
