Most likely an add-on has hijacked your search setting. This article describes how you can manually change the search provider using the about:config preferences page. However, if searches still are redirected, then you should check your add-ons.

Location bar search | How to | Firefox Help

To check add-ons:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Add-ons

On the left side, click Extensions. Happy hunting!
