I cannot get Firefox as my home page in Ubuntu. I have tried the remedies you suggest in your help section but they don't work. When I click on Firefox I go straight to Google. I want to go to the Firefox4 home page. I'm running Linux with no other OS.

The default homepage in Firefox 4 is about:home, which has a Google search box. Is that what appears in the Location bar when you open Firefox?

No I go straight to the Ubuntu start page which also has a Google search box.
