My top toolbar has changed and the refresh tap is no longer there, also the green slider thing that tells you page is loading at the bottom right of page is gone too. (and some other stuff that I cant remember atm) If it aint broken don't fix it! Any way to get these back?

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload (Refresh) buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.

When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.

If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. For more details on customizing the toolbar see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar

You can use the Status-4-Evar add-on to add a page progress bar - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

It took me 30 minutes to find the refresh button.

Look for where the website address is displayed at the top of the screen, then move to the right, one inch at a time. If you look very closely, you will see a star to the right of the address. Then if you move .5 inches to the right of the star, you will see a grey circular arrow. That is the new refresh button.

Thank you, this was very helpful. I managed to solve several problems with the update by following your advice.

This would have been more helpful had you specified where, precisely, the gray icon is to be found.

I have stumbled across a fix to all my frustrations with firefox 4 - I have been working in fullscreen mode - that is what loads on startup even after 2 reinstalls of firefox4. Exit fullscreen mode folks! - right click in vacant tab area.

But what about Firefox 5 which I have just downloaded and which has lost the toolbar that contained the refresh arrow? Really it is so annoying when the most useful features disappear!
