My Ctrl-Enter Behaviour stopped working right

For ages now I've been taking this method of going to a website.

I'd enter say google and then hit Ctrl-Enter, and it would expand things out to be http://www.google.com and I'd go on my merry way.

However as of TODAY, I've noticed things are different. Ctrl-enter doesn't do that anymore. I'm now landed at a Google search page with google already entered in the search bar.

How do I get it to not do this anymore? Where'd my keyboard shortcut go for this?

Tkx.

Edit: I brain locked and originally posted this as Alt-Enter. I did not mean to do that.

I had this problem (sort of). I couldn't use alt-enter to open my bookmarks/history in a new tab. But for search, alt-enter worked. Additionally, I couldn't use ^, #, *, etc. to limit the results in the location/awesome bar.

Turns out, an extension (Omnibar) was causing the problem. Disabled it and everything works as it should.

Alt + Enter will open the link in a new tab. To do a fixup with www.and .com you need to hit Ctr+Enter (Ctrl: .com; Shift: .net; Ctrl+Shift: .org)

You can modify the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page to use a Google Lucky search in Firefox 4.

I knew that. Brain lock why I said alt-center. Ctrl-enter isn't working, either. Just sub ctrl for alt in the msg above.

Same here. Disabled omnibar, and it worked again. Which is weird, as Omnibar hadn't been a problem before a couple of days ago.

Same with me. But within a span of 3 hours. Started browsing and everything worked fine. After 2 hours, alt-enter wasn't working. Weird.

I have the same problem here and have solved it by installing the latest version of ominbar (version No. 0.7.7.20110418, please find at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/omnibar/versions/). Please notice that this new version has not yet been reviewed but it works well with me. I should thank cbjaxx for sharing this solution.

I had the same problem too on a fresh installation of FF 4.01 with Fxchrome and Omnibar (I have used Chrome for a long time and only came back to FF when I could make the UI a lot like Chrome, but I digress).

The problem for me was solved because I also installed the optional Omnibar Plus add-on. Typing CTRL-ENTER on a typed <string> would only take me to a Google search result if that string, instead of www.<string>.com as expected. Disabling or removing Omnibar Plus fixed the problem completely.

To be clear, the problem is not Omnibar, but the optional Omnibar Plus.
