Upgraded to Firefox 4 from 3.6; entire window is black.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4, whenever I open it outside of safe mode the entire window appears blank. I can still interact with my home page, but I cannot see anything. It looks like this:

It works fine in safe mode, however when I check all the boxes (disable add-ons, delete bookmarks, etc.) and open Firefox normally, the screen is still black.

I created a new profile but that didn't help either.

My computer is an Asus U30jc. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with my Asus N71JV. Perhaps it has something to do with nvidia optimus and it's dual graphics... I don't know. If someone has an idea, I would be thrilled to hear it.

So I figured my own problem out. Go into Firefox 4 in safe mode and

Options -> Advanced

Then uncheck the box that says "Use hardware acceleration when available."

I think something about that messes with Optimus, because after I did that FF4 is working fine for me.

Hope it works for the other 4 of you.

Thanks for posting FoxGlider.

Similar problem on Acer Aspire Timeline X 4820tg but not consistent: - Has occured when switching from low to high graphics cards. Switching back to low fixes view - I can see the border and menu areas of the FF window although pulldowns are black - Going to high, closing and reopening firefox also fixes for me.
