I open a link to any web page ok but if I select a link to see something like a statement or a wine list or such, the browser goes into an extended loading process in which I am told that the server is busy and would I like to switch or retry. Most of the time I select switch twice or more and the page is displayed, many times the option window pops up behind the Firefox page and since the browser is unresponsive I cannot make a selection and I am forced to close the browser using task manager.

Try to determine exactly what the content is that is causing problems, is it for instance opening .pdf type files or specific types of images ?

  • Tools -> Page Info -> Media may give you some clues as to what is common to pages that give problems.

It could also be a problem with your Javascript settings to block or enable

  • Tools -> Options -> Content

Or one or more of your extensions could be causing problems see
