A few days ago someone sent me an email with a link to a site www.worth1000.com - I visited the site and thought no more of it. Now, every morning when I open Firefox it goes straight to that site. I've set the Homepage to a different page in Tools but Firefox simply ignores that instruction and just goes straight to the offending site. Any ideas how I can stop it doing this please?

Does that only happen if you click the Firefox icon on the desktop ?

Did you check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click context menu: Properties) ?

Worked it out - if you type about:config in the address bar you get into the Firefox internal workings and settings. The offending website had installed an instruction to override the Homepage setting. I deleted it and all is well........
