Still want to see ALL messages sent my TB -- including spam / junk (the worst of the worst!)

druw

First off, mucho thanks to Wayne Mery for kindly guiding me back where I should again ask this question. Here's a copy of the message I posted that Wayne responded to --

> Hi Kelly, et al, > > If this isn't an appropriate place for my question / comment / suggestion -- please advise how to do it properly. > > Several months ago, I had a brief exchange with Wayne Merry(?) in which I communicated that I was "certain" that TB was not showing me ALL (99.99%) of the emails I receive for my several hosted domains. I mentioned that I used to receive 20-30-40 spam messages everyday -- mostly in "junk" (not all). Then suddenly that stopped -- perhaps after upgrading to a new version. Wayne seemed little interested in my problem, but suggested I upgrade to a newer version -- which I resisted (just want a "stable" version that works) -- but I did -- to 140.17 esr. > > That upgrade made little difference (maybe one or two more). That is very problematic for my "business-like" use of TB. I live by email. My business card minimizes my phone # (landline) and mainly shows two big, prominent e-addresses -- my old original e-address from an evil ISP in ATL (druw@oneimage.com)-- AND above that -- my main e-address which is identical to the ISP, but with DRU added to the domain (druw@OneImageDru.com). > > I verified this week that a banker business contact -- sent to both e-addresses -- and I only received the one sent to the ISP e-address. Never received the one sent to druw@OneImageDru.com -- at all. This is similar to dozens of similar situations -- in which I never received any (expected) email -- and had to assume that -- just maybe that party never sent an email (not a lot of email lovers left). > > How can I SEE ALL (99.99%) email sent to my TB -- including seeing ALL spam sent to my TB -- just verify that there aren't any unintended NON-spam messages that are being mischaracterized as spam -- but are not? Is there a particular TB version that has potentially solved this problem? > > Any suggestions for running an other particular IMAP client (not deleting) -- to compare with what I get with TB? > > Merci, > > Dru

Hello Dru. You were close with the name :)

Through https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/druw/ I see you previous posting No longer see ALL messages, including spam after upgrade to TB 128.14 Oesr (64, Win 10) from 6 months ago and your older posting More "granularity needed" to "How to turn off Junk filtering / TB 115.10 from a year ago.

The description of planning at https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/planning/settings indicates this group is not for bug reporting and support. Your domain is hosted. I suggest you consult with the hosting provider as to what settings you need n their site to meet your criteria. My reading of their website does not inspire me that they will even deliver to the domain that percentage of email.

Using IMAP to get mail will of course at least show the SPAM folder locally in their folder if you are not already using it.
