Google has hijacked my search engine
I use Firefox as my browser and have used Yahoo as my home page and browser for decades. Starting a few days ago, every time I type in the Yahoo search bar I get a Google search page result. I opened Bing and tried to search on their page and got the same result - Google. This is driving me crazy. I want my old Yahoo search back. I am at a loss as to how to fix this. I have looked at the Firefox settings and, of course, Yahoo is no longer listed. A shame. I don't know what to do at this point. Maybe the answer is to get rid of Firefox, but it has worked well for me for a long time. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I appreciate your response. I put in the Yahoo add-on and the Firefox search now shows Yahoo as my default search engine. I re-started my pc and tried a search in Yahoo. Unfortunately, as soon as I hit enter, I'm right back to a stupid Google page. Not sure where this came from. It just started this 2 or 3 days ago. Before that, all was well. I have to wonder if I have gotten some kind of virus or something. Not sure what to try next. But thanks for you help. It is appreciated.
Hi,
What do you mean by the Yahoo search bar? Is it the bar located on yahoo.com or on your homepage? The same question for Bing.
When I open Yahoo, to search you enter info in the box titled "Search the web". See the first image. In the case of Bing, there is just a long box with a magnifying glass at the start. Type your search parameters in the box and hit enter. See image 2. I typed "roof tile images" in the search box on Bing and hit enter. I am thrown into Google search. The result is image 3.
I use Firefox as my browser and have for a very long time. I have used Yahoo as my search engine for decades. I have been happy with both. Image 4 shows my setting in Firefox for my default search engine - Yahoo. I am at a loss as to what to do at this point. Firefox seems to be working ok. The search engine part is not.
Hmm, if you search on yahoo.com directly and get redirected to Google, that's definitely not something Firefox would do. If you run Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode, will the issue persist?
