Can I stop constant requests from Firefox (on my desktop) to turn on location services?

After a recent update Firefox now often displays a Settings screen that appears over my open windows and tells me that I need to turn on Location Services.

This has never occurred before and Firefox has performed well for many years on both Windows 10 and 11. And no website or contact has ever complained to me about a lack of location information.

So is Location Services a necessity. And is it a benefit that I really should use?

Since version 150, Firefox prompts you to enable location access in Windows settings when granting a website permission to use your location, if geolocation hasn't already been allowed. This behavior, previously limited to some Windows 11 versions, now applies to all supported Windows versions.
