Hi, I use Firefox and would like to migrate over from Gmail to Thunderbird. I'm getting fedd up with Google trying to overpower me with everything.

Q1, if I download and install T/Bird will it run my gmail and icloud emails

Q2, will I have to e mail everyone to say not to use Gmail, they must now address me at T/Bird?

Q3, How easy is it to empower T/Bird to control my 2 mail accounts?

Cheers,

Colin

Chosen solution

1: Yes.

2: No, you will use the same accounts as before, as you mentioned in #1.

3. Depends on what you mean by “empower” and “control” and what you want to accomplish. People who know Thunderbird can set up gmail and iCloud accounts in a few minutes. Thunderbird can do very much. Some complexity comes with power. There are several very knowledgeable people on this forum who can help you with specific issues. For example, iCloud requires an app-specific password that you must create at Apple. gmail may also. I do not know. Other people here know gmail and Thunderbird well.
