Ever since the most recent update, I have had a ton of junk mail coming in to my [edited] @cox.net email address. Why and what can I do to block these from coming in? My wife is not getting many. I do not see that Mozilla has a way to block senders as they come in, like Yahoo does (Our cox accounts go through Yahoo and I have been blocking groups of junk mail as it comes in, but still getting a lot, because Yahoo only blocks on Yahoo mail accounts). I appreciate any help you can offer. Jim Chase

Hi Jim,

  1. Get off mailing lists.
  2. Adjust settings in the Yahoo spam filter if you can. You may be able to make them more aggressive. I don't know if that's possible with Yahhoo.
  3. Create block lists at the server if you can.
  4. Use Thunderbird's adaptive junk mail filtering on all your accounts. Train it. It is in account settings.

At the next level of time, effort, and money:

  1. Get your own domain.
  2. Use e-mail aliases.

Good luck.
