Hello, what kind of error are you getting when trying to open gmail on Firefox? And are you able to open any other pages? If a website works in other browsers but not on Firefox, the issue is likely caused by an addon. You can try to start your Firefox on Troubleshoot mode and see if the issue still remains.

Let me know if this worked

I'm not getting an error code. I have no addons. When I open my gmail, even though I have firefox as my default both in windows and gmail accounts, it always opens in edge. I tried the troubleshoot mode as well as firefox refresh. Still no luck. I can't uninstall edge (tried that) as it is an integral part of OS.

If you think of anything else, I'm happy to try it.

Hello, thanks for the clarification. Can you explain when you say "when I open my gmail", do you have a shortcut on windows that is set on your desktop? Or are you on a phone?

I do have a shortcut in startup and on toolbar. Both take me to gmail in edge even though the default is set to firefox everywhere I found to set a default. Additionally, when I click a link within the body of an email, it takes me to that website in edge. Thanks!

Yes. I'd done that already but tried it again just in case I did it incorrectly the first time. Still no luck. I'll keep trying. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Hello, unfortunately I am not on a windows device, so I can't reproduce. But I asked our amazing contributors to check on their devices, will keep you posted on what we find.

Hello, one of our contributors had an idea, he is asking how you created those shortcuts? Did you do this via Edge?

No. I did it in firefox assuming if I'd done it in edge, the shortcut would also be in edge. Thanks again.

I went backwards and uninstalled/reinstalled firefox, gmail, and every app and shortcut that continued opening in edge, making sure each was downloaded, updated and opened in firefox, then restarting my commuter at every step. It took some time to purge all my apps/shortcuts of edge. That was probably overkill, but I think maybe it worked! Gmail now opens in firefox and links I follow in an email open in firefox. I hope it sticks. I so appreciate your help.
