Bookmarks
Absolutely furious. My bookmarks have completely disappeared and none of your suggested 'articles' is any help at all. I certainly won't be using Mozilla any more if you can't tell me how to rectify this.

Hi siems, sorry to hear about this problem. Was it just bookmarks, or did you also lose history, settings, etc.?
For total data loss, please see the following article first: Recover user data missing after Firefox update
For bookmark-specific issues, first, if you haven't already, please do a normal shutdown and/or restart of your system. Restarting Windows can help by freeing up locked files, completing any deferred updates, and resolving temporary file permission issues.
Next, if Firefox still has bookmark problems, could you let us know what you get when you run the "Verify Integrity" diagnosis and repair function. That's here:
Open Firefox's Troubleshooting Information page using any of these methods:
- "3-bar" menu button > Help > More Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > More Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
Near the bottom, there is a section titled Places Database -- that's the file which stores history and bookmarks. Click the button labeled Verify Integrity. There may be a 10-15 second delay before results appear.
If all is well, the report that appears below the button should start with:
> Task: checkIntegrity + The places.sqlite database is sane + The favicons.sqlite database is sane > Task: invalidateCaches + The caches have been invalidated > Task: checkCoherence + The database is coherent
Does yours say that, or something else? You can select and copy the report, and then paste it into a reply for review and comment.

Hello
I'm sorry about that, so let's get started without articles or links.
First, let's check if your bookmarks exist: Firefox automatically saves your bookmarks in a file called bookmarks.html. If this file is missing or corrupted, your bookmarks may disappear.
System Paths:
windows: C:\Users\<Your User>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<Profile Folder>\bookmarks.html
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<Profile Folder>/bookmarks.html
linux:~/.mozilla/firefox/<Profile Folder>/bookmarks.html
If the file exists, open it with a text editor (like Notepad or VS Code) to check if it contains your bookmarks.
Check for multiple profiles or corrupted
Let me know the results
Best Regards sm

I'm not sure where you found this information, but it is not correct. Did you try to verify it on your installation? Firefox moved to using database storage for bookmarks long, long ago.
