My bookmarks have disappeared. The solutions do not seem to work. It may be due to Avast Secure Browser trying to take over. Will they come back if I uninstall that?

This morning this was at the top of my screen when I logged into my computer. "For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar. Manage bookmarks..."

I did click on it however nothing happened or so I thought. I later go to the upper right hamburger and click on it and go to the bookmark tab only to find all my bookmarks are gone.

Can anyone tell me how to get them back since that is my quick access to my business sites? Is there a way to find them or are they just gone?

I cannot get the tab to stay out so I can take a screen shot. Sorry.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, I use Windows 11 on my PC in France. I lost all my Firefox bookmarks and browsing history some time ago. When I try to use Firefox I get the message : Firefox is not operational because one of the Firefox files is being used by another application. I have tried to get an explanation on firefox.fr but to no avail, their support page is far too complex. I can still browse with Frefox but no bookmarks, so it defeats the purpose... Please help if you can as I now have to resort to Google Chrome, wich is not as versatile and I would really like to be able to use Firefox again. Thanks. Raymond

I lost my entire browser (bookmarks, extensions, accounts) by opening firefox twice. Whilst firefox was opening (very slowly due to my wifi) i opened it again, thinking it may have crashed, next time i opened it my entire browser was gone. How can i recover my data?

For the past, about 9 months, every time any update is applied to my Firefox browser, I loose access to my Bookmarks (approx 10 years worth) and have to go through the tedious process of copying, renaming, moving, restarting etc. Is Mozilla going to fix this issue soon or should I just resign myself to having to check my bookmarks every couple of days or so to see if they still exist.

Firefox suddenly reset to a fresh install state: only default bookmarks, my custom ones are gone. No sync enabled. No manual reset/refresh/reinstall done. Tried: Restore from backups (none recent), about:profiles (only new profile), checked bookmarkbackups folder (empty/old). Please help recover bookmarks if possible. What could cause this? Any recovery steps?

Why have all my bookmarks disappeared? I wnt through several of th steps offered on the cautionary link and nothing changed. What Windows update defiled your security? Will I have to search for another browser? I've used Firefox for years ... don't make me search for a better browser.

When my computer reseted, I lost all my accounts. When I logged in with Mozilla, only past data from microsoft edge were restored because of the uploading part of the sign in. How do I get my bookmarks and passwords back?

Tried Old Firefox Data and I don't think it's there. I don't see it in about:profiles. I used it yesterday and windows seemed to refresh overnight. When I opened firefox this morning, an old profile came up (as it does sometimes). Usually when this happens, two profiles open and I just close the old one that I don't use. But this time only the old one opened. PLEASE HELP!!!

I lost all bookmarks overnight and the Bookmarks tab is completely empty. I have located the latest JSONL24 backup file and tried to import it via the Firefox General Tab setting; however, the file does not show up in the Import Browser Data route. In fact, the C: directory as seen through this window is quite different from the actual C: directory. What am I doing wrong? Are there any other way to restore the bookmarks using the JSONL24 file?
