I recently updated from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04 after which I cannot add attachments to my Thunderbird (128.3.3esr) emails. The application has been uninstalled and reinstalled both from the Ubuntu programs list and directly as a flatpack from the Mozilla web page. It still does not allow attachments.

Send Message Error "Sending of the message failed. There was an error attaching (insert whatever file type you like here. In my case a .docx). Please check that you have access to the file."

I absolutely have access to the file. I have tried the Attach link, which doesn't appear to attach the document at all. I have also tried using drag and drop. The drag and drop does appear to add the file but you still get the same error when you try to send or save it as a draft.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
