The latest update has broken my firefox
The most recent update, has caused my firefox to not work properly. Firstly i noticed that it reset all my extensions and themes and now i have noticed that it has affected some sites i was storing data on, for example, i use a site which keeps a track of all the camos i have achieved for Call of Duty MW3. This has now been reset. These can all be redone, but it is something i shouldn't have to do, with an update, as it has never happened before with a firefox update. The way it has been going, i am sure i will find more errors with firefox. Hopefully something can be done, maybe not in this instance but in future "Improvements", as it is not a good user experience!

Sorry to hear about this problem.
As the first step, if you haven't already, could you close out of Firefox and do a normal shutdown and restart of Windows to clear file locks and complete any pending updates.
Then, if problems continue, could you check whether your stuff is available in a different profile, as follows:
Profile Manager Page
Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.
This page should list at least one profile and could list many. (Each profile has two folders and one or more buttons. Do not use any Remove buttons!)
The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:
This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.
Do you have any other profile(s) listed on this page? If so, you can check whether it is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.
If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.
If it IS what you want, back on the about:profiles page, click the Set as default profile button for that profile so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.
Any progress so far, or do we need to keep looking for your data in some other places?
unfortunately, there was 2 profiles, so i opened the other one in a new window, as suggested and it was just a plain basic profile, with no settings on it at all.
Could you check one other thing: is there a folder labeled Old Firefox Data on your Windows desktop? If Firefox ran the Refresh/Reset/Tune-up process, then your old profile folder would be in there rather than the usual location.
Yes there is a folder that appeared on my desktop, how would i use that?
If you click inside, you should find a profile folder with a partially random name like
xyz123ab.default-release
Inside there, you can check the bookmarkbackups folder to see whether this is fresh data -- the creation dates for the backups are indicated in the file names.
Does it look like the latest?
Now... it is a little complicated to restore add-ons and their databases. This is because Firefox assigns random numbers to your add-ons and names their storage folders using those numbers. So I don't know how easily you can match those up. Although it's not perfect, it may be simpler to use the transplant method I described in the following thread:

there are 15 files in that folder, the most recent one is bookmarks-2024-03-24 and was modified on 22/3/2024. The update was on the 25/3/2024, does this sound right?
Yes, that sounds very fresh to me.
