I'm getting Access denied Reference #18.6b01cb8.1700662622.22a58314 only on tesco.com since last nights firefox update.

All other sites are funtional (at least no others found yet). I have cleared cache and cookies but still getting the issue.

The site is up and accessible by ms edge.

I have run in troubleshooting mode and taken off any extensions, still no change.

Running windows 10 (latest updates)

Malwarebytes is reporting no issues.

Try changing secure DNS over HTTPS (DoH) to "Off" or "Max Protection" and in Connection Settings change "Use system proxy settings" to "No proxy".

Hi thanks for replying.

I just worked through all that restarting firefox in between changes and still get the same Access denied.

"You don't have permission to access..." errors are characteristic of a firewall that protects the server against misuse and this firewall thinks something is suspicious about the HTTP request. If you use a proxy or VPN, try to use a direct connection. Select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

  • Settings -> General -> Network -> Connection -> Settings

You can try to clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the padlock button or via "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings) to see if that fixes it.

I've seen cases where having enabled Resist Fingerprinting was causing this issue.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if an extension is causing the problem.

If this all doesn't work, try "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history item. Note that this removes saved passwords for this website as well.

Hi there thanks for replying.

I've done everything except the forget about the site.

I'm assuming that once I've completed that, that I can just add a new bookmark and save passwords etc??

Your bookmark might be outdated. Try visiting the tesco website directly and update your bookmarks.

Hi

Done that went direct to the site from a google page and get the same error.

I'm so sorry I thought I'd put this specific information in on my question (in my defence I'm recovering from a virus):

The initial page opens OK but as soon as I try and sign in I get the access denied message, so its the signing into account that brings up the error message.

As mentioned earlier everything is working via ms edge ie I'm able to sign in.

Yes its working here now. Yay!!

I hate that when you assume the problem is your end and go through all the troubleshooting (and bother the forum) just to find out it was their problem. Still at least FF has had a nice refresh lol!

When I searched yesterday I couldn't find any other reports of the same issue, mind you I dont have twitter.

Thank you for replying.
