Constantly freezing. Caused by broken Unified Folders
Dear reciever. After years of using TB and what we do think is a productive mail-tool that works for the benefits we are looking for has worked. However, the last 115- constantly freezing and shuts down. This is very annoying. It freezes at some folders from the main email-client- as we have deleted older folders integrated with this. But the problems remains. . We have done everything in our knowledge of the program but still no approvement. . At this point we are using Outlook..would be grateful to have some answers and possible sollutions for this issue. . Thanks in advance and keep up the great work U are doing. :-)

Thanks for the suggestions. One worked, at least for us- we used the Add-on "unified_folders_debugging-115.4-tb Now TB works without any freezing :-)
Hope it works for all of us.

Have you done ctrl/alt/delete and selected Task Manager to see what's eating up CPU or memory?
Start Windows in safe mode and see if TB performance is better.

Sounds like Howes knows how.
Same for me. No crashes before, then came Thunderbird 115, I started using Unified folders, and I've been seeing frequent freezes. Every time I was expecting a new mail, went to check, froze again. I checked the Task Manager, Thunderbird was practically doing nothing (4% CPU usage). The rest of the system was around 95% idle. So I don't think that helps.
What IMO helps is, the fact that as soon as I turned off Unified folders, I was fine again! No more freezes. I turn them on again, the freezing returns. So it must be the Unified folders.

Try resetting Unified Folders, restart TB, and see if UF works without freezing:
I have this issue as well.. Very frustrating.. Thunderbird has been ROCK solid... I'm running 115.9.1esr (64-bit) Now, with no understanding of when, it HANGS. Sometimes within a day, sometimes after 3 days or so. I have to crash the program and re-start it.
I've been using the program for over 10 years. I have multiple 10 email accounts it checks, all, on the same POP server, with exception to one account, which checks gmail through the integrated gmail checking.
It happened again.. The CPU is not maxing out in the task service for it.. And the memory seems to be about normal at 275 megs. I have to crash it and re-start it.
Ill try disabling the unified folders..
