In settings when I am in security I have Firefox as my default search engine. When I go into the search tab it tells me Bing is. There is a drop down box to change it but Firefox is not an option. Help I am also unable to get into my xfinity email so please respond to, [removed email from public] Thx

Hi Deb, let me distinguish between two different things:

(1) Default browser (Windows setting)

This is the browser that Windows will use to open links from other applications (with some exceptions for MS Office Outlook).

(2) Default search site within Firefox

Firefox doesn't offer a Firefox-branded search engine. The default search provider in Firefox is Google, and other options include Bing and DuckDuckGo. Do you have all 3 choices? This article has more info on the search panel of the Settings page:

Change your default search settings in Firefox

Add-ons can modify your search settings and overall search experience, so if the settings do not work the way they should, let's circle back and look at your add-ons.

P.S. This forum doesn't accept emailed replies, so please come back to this thread to continue. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1419314

Regarding Xfinity mail:

A couple weeks ago, users reported problems connecting. Two things that might help, assuming you know your username and password:

(1) Clear your Comcast / Xfinity cookies:

On the Settings page, Privacy & Security panel, scroll down a bit to the "Cookies and Site Data" section:

Click the "Manage Data" button. That dialog should list all the variations of xfinity.com and comcast.net for which Firefox has stored cookies and you can remove those without affecting other sites. (See the "Clear cookies for any website" section of Clear cookies and site data in Firefox.)

(2) Use this link to start signing in to email:
