A few days ago Firefox extensions stopped working

All 3 extensions that I use stopped working today: adblocker ultimate, scriptblocker ultimate, image video block. Add-ons manager says they're installed and enabled.

I don't know whether it's relevant, but a few days ago Firefox ignored all my settings and I had to reset them. It kept the history.

Hi there,

I understand that you're experiencing issues with your Firefox extensions not working properly. As a Firefox support volunteer, I'm here to help you out.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that all three of your extensions (adblocker ultimate, scriptblocker ultimate, image video block) have stopped working, even though they are installed and enabled according to the Add-ons manager.

To troubleshoot this issue, I would suggest the following steps:

Clear your browser cache: Go to the Firefox menu, select Options, then Privacy & Security. Under the Cookies and Site Data section, click on "Clear Data" and ensure that the "Cached Web Content" option is selected. Click "Clear" to remove the cached data.

Disable and re-enable the extensions: In the Firefox menu, go to Add-ons, then Extensions. Find each of the extensions (adblocker ultimate, scriptblocker ultimate, image video block) and click on the Disable button. Once disabled, click on the Enable button to re-enable them.

Update Firefox: Make sure you have the latest version of Firefox installed. Go to the Firefox menu, select Help, then About Firefox. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.

Test in Safe Mode: Restart Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. To do this, go to the Firefox menu, select Help, then Restart with Add-ons Disabled. If the extensions work fine in Safe Mode, it may indicate a conflict with another add-on or a custom setting.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please let me know and provide any additional details or error messages you may have encountered. I'll be happy to assist you further.

Best regards, Firefox Support Volunteer

After your Reset -- which I assume was a Firefox Refresh that removed your add-ons (Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings) -- you reinstalled the add-ons from the Mozilla Add-ons site?

Two potential issues with a new install:

(1) Where are the toolbar buttons?!

Firefox adds those to the Extensions button drop-down. You can open that drop-down and use the menu to pin the buttons to the toolbar. See: Manage your extensions using the extensions button in the toolbar.

(2) Extensions need to be enabled for private windows

See: Extensions in Private Browsing.
