I am trying to set previewing an attachment on Thunderbird before actually attaching it. A very useful feature to make sure what you are about to attach is the desired document. This was set on my previous PC/thunderbird but I can't seem to find how to set it on the Thunderbird I've set up on my new PC. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thunderbird has no preview as such. However windows file open dialogs (which Thunderbird uses) have some of this functionality for some file types. Most notably images.

The the blue icon in the image with turns the preview pane on and off.
