Hi Butch, what happens when you try to log in to PayPal -- is there a specific error message?

Does the issue occur in a popup/payment window, or on their normal page at https://www.paypal.com/signin, or both ?

what happens when I click on the bookmark it takes me to a white page with a blue circle does not go away unless I exit the page. I also deleted all the cookies all the links to PayPal logged in PayPal like a new address even when they login on the address bar it does the same thing. It also doesn't work through a website to purchase something eBay or anybody else. Can you help?

As a test, could you reduce the global cookie blocking level using this method:

On the Settings page, Privacy & Security panel, change the "Enhanced Tracking Protection" level to "Custom"

This will expose several different blocking settings.

For Cookies, change to "Cross-site tracking cookies" (the first item in the little drop-down).

For reference: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop.

Does that make any difference?

no it appears other people were having the same problem some are so upset there switching over to Chrome or Microsoft edge. I don't understand why the other browsers work perfectly fine with that and this doesn't but this just appeared here lately I'm considering switching myself.

You may just need to clear your cache and cookies from your internet browser. If you can't log in because you forgot your password, proceed straight to PayPal. Enter your email to have a new password sent to you.

Hmm, I don't know what is different. I use PayPal a few times a month and haven't noticed any problems recently.

Do you use any content blocking add-ons? Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix usually provide a toolbar button to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you sometimes need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for this site.

Testing in Firefox's Troubleshoot Mode: In this mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates all of your extensions, hardware acceleration, any userChrome.css/userContent.css files, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is running:

You can restart Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Help > Troubleshoot Mode... (before Fx88: Restart with Add-ons Disabled)
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Troubleshoot Mode... (before Fx88: Restart with Add-ons Disabled)

and OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click the Open button (before Fx88: "Start in Safe Mode" button).

If Firefox is not running:

Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.) A small dialog should appear. Click the Open button (before Fx88: "Start in Safe Mode" button).

Note: Don't use the Refresh without first reviewing this article to understand what will be deleted: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

Any improvement?
