when I open firefox home page I get a string of sexually explicit ads and offers from prostitutes, and I don't want them. how do I get rid of them?

You can install an ad-blocker which then automatically blocks those ads from displaying.

After using Adblock plus for many years it suddenly stopped working. Therefore I switched to uBlock Origin which is recommended by Mozilla and it is open-source.
