6/1/2022 update broke firefox

This morning, firefox updated when I opened it. Now, since the latest update, when I click on a link in an email, firefox, my default browser- opens, but does not navigate to the page- it just sits there, empty and lifeless. 

   I close firefox, and when I open the browser from the start menu, it says it is still running, and I have to choose the option to close the old browser before it will open.

  I have disabled add-ons, tried disabling hardware acceleration, even resetting FireFox, and none of it helps.

   This problem did not exist at all yesterday.
