This morning YOPmail showed up on my windows 10 foxfire as a pinned tab. It claims to be an extension (chrome). Nowhere does anyone say it is malicious...but I want it gone and nowhere is there instructions on how to remove it...I have contacted the dev. we'll see...

It is my business computer and I don't like software, apps, code, extensions or add-ons that i cant get rid of.

Any help would be appreciated.

Since that isn't a firefox software you might have to go online and search YOPmail and see if anyone found a way to remove or uninstall it.

I appreciate your help.

I did that already...Even contacted some of the people that reviewed it over the years as well as one of the well known magazine / download sites and asked them why they promoted and offered a hack; and that they might want to offer info on uninstalling...

If it is an installed extension then see:

Thank you...did that as well...searched HD...nothing...

Then this would resort to a computer shop to see what is happening to figure what to do next.

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed free to use malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Fred,

I saw those earlier, but those are fixes for youmail...sounds like that's a subscription/account system. YOPmail has no subscriptions, no settings wheel.

I ran search and destroy this am. I'll try malware later.

thanks everyone

I went and used google to search YOPmail malware and found articles about it what did you find that didn't help identify this software or issue?
