El Capitan
Hello! My Mac is old. It uses El Capitan 10.11.6 and cannot be updated any more.
I updated to the latest version of Firefox. Big Mistake. It asked if I wanted to keep the old copy and opted to not to. Now, no matter what I try to download nothing works. I am stuck. Can you help?

Firefox Mac OS X 10.9, 10.10 and 10.11 users move to Extended Support Release
Firefox 78 is the last supported version for Mac OS X 10.9, 10.10 and 10.11. Users will be moved to Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR).
Note: With some versions of Firefox, the data files are not backward compatible.
If there is an issue, create a new profile and we can tell you how to recover the data.

Note that it is important to stay up to date and install the latest security patches.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.
Note: If you know what version you want, press <Control> (Mac=<Command>) F to open the search bar. Then enter the version number to see the available files.

You can find Firefox 78.15.0 version here:
Short version is if you want to use current Firefox versions you need MacOS 10.12 or later.
The Firefox 78.15.0 esr was the last to still support macOS 10.11 however the old Firefox 78 ESR does not get any more updates whether for security and/or fixes.
